Research Interests – I am particularly interested in investigating the mechanisms by which composite/lightweight materials fail under impact loading. Another line of inquiry that I pursue involves building computational models to predict material behavior. My work is also focused on investigating the mechanics of origami-inspired composite structures with an aim to make them self-deployable. When I am not at work you can find me engaging one of four “stress unloading protocols” – photography, cooking, watching Formula One/European football.
